What Are Holistic Psychiatry Services?
We recognize that people are always functioning in multiple different ways: emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually, and that all of these realms interact. Healing interventions can come from, and target, any of these realms of functioning, and the benefits ripple out through your entire system. Holistic psychiatry services provide biological support to your physical brain by prescribing appropriate medication which will facilitate the flourishing of your whole self, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
Our Approach
At Flourishing Lives Counseling, we want to help you break down whatever barriers may be standing in the way of you thriving in life. We take the time to get to know you well enough to provide a thoughtful, comprehensive, and personalized treatment plan. Holistic psychiatry considers all the important factors across your life, such as family background, current stressors, medical issues, emotional functioning, spiritual assets, and more. We strive to recommend whatever other resources and approaches would nourish your overall wellbeing and develop healthy habits. With your permission, we always coordinate care with your therapist and/or other professionals so that you will get the best outcomes possible.
What We Help With
Holistic medication management can address a multitude of challenges, including difficulties with moods (sadness, anger, instability); problems with thinking, remembering or concentrating; struggles with sleeping; bothersome worries or fears; and issues with everyday functioning. Supportive medication can help in multiple ways: for instance, decreasing the intensity of particular symptoms; allowing you to more effectively apply what you are learning in therapy; or turning around a negative pattern that has developed, such as insomnia or obsessive thinking. It is designed to chemically give your brain what it needs to operate at its best.
Could you benefit from holistic psychiatric services?
Most people are aware that medication commonly helps with a variety of mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and ADHD. But oftentimes people are unsure whether medication might be beneficial for them, or simply have hesitations for a variety of reasons. At Flourishing Lives Counseling we take a collaborative and individualized approach, answering all of your questions based on the latest research and our clinical experience. If there are other treatment modalities or strategies that are likely to be more effective for you instead of medication, we will always guide you in that direction. If we expect your system will benefit from medication, we will provide all of the information and ongoing support that you need to make this element of your treatment highly successful – towards our ultimate goal of seeing you flourish physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
